The Lady Bearcats won their second straight, defeating Thiel College 6-0 on the Saint Vincent turf. Saint Vincent posted a season-high 33 shots on the day, with Leanna Seminsky scoring three times and Alex Shasko twice to lead the Lady Bearcats to the win. Shasko put the Lady Bearcats on the scoreboard first, taking a pass from Morgan Castle and lofting a shot from well over 20 yards out into the back of the net 17 minutes into play. With 19 minutes left in the opening half, the Tomcats were whistled for a hand ball in front of the goal, and Shasko scored on the ensuing penalty kick to give SVC the two-goal advantage. Seminsky then got in on the act, scoring her first of the day, and fifth of the season, with just over six minutes left until halftime to put the Lady Bearcats ahead 3-0, a score that would stand through halftime. The score remained 3-0 for the first 15 minutes of the second half, until Michelle Stepien sent home a Shasko one-timer from right in front to put the Lady Bearcats in front by four. Seminsky then scored twice in a five minute span, first lofting a shot into the upper corner from 15 yards out, and then knocking home another Shasko one-touch pass on the doorstep, to close out the day's scoring with 19 minutes left to play. While the Lady Bearcat offense managed 33 shots, the team's defense was also stellar, allowing a season-low three shots from Thiel, with goalie Kirstie Mills making a pair of stops in goal for the win. Saint Vincent will now look to extend its two-game winning streak on Monday, as they travel to Westminster College for an 8pm contest.
