For the second straight game in a row, the Lady Bearcats suffered a tough overtime defeat, falling 2-1 at Juniata. Leanna Seminsky started the day's scoring in the game's 39th minute, putting the Lady Bearcats ahead 1-0 with a shot drilled into the corner of the net from 15 yards out. Four minutes into the second half, the Golden Eagles were able to tie it up, when Erin Eddinger knocked in a cross to make the score 1-1. In the closing minutes, SVC's offense looked primed to take the lead, posting four shots over the final three minutes, but the Lady Bearcats were unable to find the net, and regulation ended with the score tied at one. Juniata wasted little time in the extra session, when Shannon Pierce got control of the ball in the middle of the box and drilled it home, giving the hosts the 2-1 win. For the game, Juniata owned a 20-10 advantage in shots, with Lady Bearcat goalie Kirstie Mills finishing with five saves. The Lady Bearcats will now return to action on Saturday morning, hosting Franciscan University on the Saint Vincent Turf beginning at 11am.
