The Lady Bearcats closed out the 2009 season with a 3-2 loss to Chatham University. Saint Vincent posted 34 shots for the game, a season high, but were unable to overcome a hot start by the Cougars, who scored two goals in the first 15 minutes of the opening half. The Lady Bearcats trimmed the deficit to 2-1 on Michelle Stepien's sixth goal of the season, assisted by Logan Gamelier, but the Cougars answered right back, with Kristie Brannon scoring off of a corner kick with five minutes remaining in the first half to take a 3-1 lead into the intermission. With 29 minutes remaining in the second half, SVC's Leanna Seminsky once again made it a one-goal game with an unassisted goal, but it was as close as the visitors would get, as Chatham held on for the 3-2 victory. The 34-12 advantage in shots was the largest of the year for SVC, as eight different Lady Bearcats took at least two shot attempts. The Lady Bearcats also owned a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks. Chatham goalie Lauren Strang was strong in goal, making eight saves, including seven over the final 45 minutes. Kirstie Mills took the loss in goal for SVC, making four saves. With the loss, the Lady Bearcats end the season with a 4-14-1 record, while Chatham improved to 6-10 on the year.
