Three first half goals were all the Lady Bearcats needed in their 3-0 win over Thiel College at a rainy Chuck Noll Field.

Adrianne Groth scored twice and Shelly Teems once, all within 30 minutes in the first half, while goalie Jessica Urban turned aside both shots that she faced on the afternoon.

After a number of SVC shots failed to find the net in the early going, Groth was able to get the Lady Bearcats on the board in the 10th minute, redirecting a short pass from Kylie Simonini into the net, to give SVC the 1-0 lead.

Twenty minutes later, Groth scored her second goal of the day, and team-leading eighth of the season, with assists from Simonini and Ashley Bartko, to put SVC up 2-0.

With just over two minutes before halftime, the Lady Bearcats scored the final tally of the afternoon.  Simonini sent a blast on goal, but it was deflected in front, rolling to Teems who was waiting on the post.  She quickly sent it on net, and Thiel goalie Jill Harry grabbed it after it went over the line, resulting in Teems' sixth goal of the season.

Over the first half of play, the Lady Bearcats outshot the Tomcats by a 22-1 margin, and owned a 10-1 advantage in shots on goal.

In the second half, SVC continued to control play, but was unable to add a fourth goal, as Henry, the reigning Presidents' Athletic Conference Player of the Week, made nine of her 16 stops over the final 45 minutes.   The Lady Bearcat defense once again was able to limit Thiel to just one shot on goal, and three total, helping Urban earn her sixth shutout of the season, setting a new SVC record.

It was the final home game of the season for the Lady Bearcats, and prior to the contest, the three senior members of the team- Urban, Erin Mannella, and Allie Lachat- were honored for their contributions to the program over the last four seasons.

With the win- their fifth straight- the Lady Bearcats improve to 10-5-2 on the season, while Thiel drops to 2-12-2.

Saint Vincent will wrap up the regular season on the road, traveling to Waynesburg on Saturday for a 9am contest.
