Saint Vincent freshman Jess Kennedy became the first Lady Bearcat swimmer to earn Presidents' Athletic Conference Coaches Honors. PAC Coaches Honors are the equivalent of All-PAC status for athletes from schools, like Saint Vincent, that are provisional members of NCAA Division-III. A native of Indiana, PA and graduate of Indiana High School, Kennedy put together a phenomenal freshman campaign for the Lady Bearcats, capped off with a strong performance at the PAC Championships at Grove City on Feb. 11th. At the championship meet, Kennedy shattered three SVC individual team records, including the 50 Free (25.06 seconds), the 100 Free (55.51), and the 50 Back (29.75). In addition, she teamed up with teammates Haley Krol, Amanda Haile, and Maggie Dempsey to capture four school relay records, including the 200 Free (1:42.77), the 400 Free (3:51.23), 800 Free (8:39.24), and 200 Medley (1:56.42). Coached by Josh Gurekovich, the Lady Bearcats finished fifth at the Grove City event, which was comprised of the six PAC member schools as well as five schools from the Allegheny Mountain Conference. The Lady Bearcats finished the regular season with a 4-5 dual meet record.
