Wheeling Jesuit spoiled the Lady Bearcats' season opener, defeating SVC 144-110 at the Resnik Pool.

Saint Vincent was led on the day by freshman Mary Kate Kenna.  In her collegiate debut, Kenna earned first place finishes in both the 200 Breast and 200 Individual Medley, finishing the latter with a time of 2:25.00, good for a winning margin of nearly 19 seconds.

The Lady Bearcats also received a number of second-place finishes.  Individually, Amanda Haile took second in the 1000 Free, Maggie Dempsey the 200 Free, Sarah Denning the 100 Back, and Jess Kennedy the 100 Free.

The SVC 200 Medley Relay squad of Kennedy, Dempsey, Christine Dunleavy, and Katie Custer finished second, timed in 1:58.60, while Custer, Haile, Dempsey, and Kennedy teamed up for a second-place time of 3:59.92 in the 400 Free Relay.

The Lady Bearcats (0-1) will now have a two-week layoff, before returning to action on November 7th, when they take part in a tri-meet at Penn State-Behrend along with Baldwin Wallace College.
