The Lady Bearcats finished 9th among 11 teams in the Wooster Invitational, and set four school records in the process.

It was the best finish ever for Saint Vincent at the winter invitational, held at the Ellen Shapiro Natatorium.

The team was led by freshman Amanda Haile who broke two school records,  placing 17th in the 500 Free and 13th in the 200 Free.  She also finished 24th in the 100 Free.  Haile teamed up with Olivia Cinberg, Katie Bittner and Sarah Denning for new school records in the 800 Free and 400 Free relays which each finished the weekend in 14th place.

Other top individual performances included Bittner in the 500 Free, placing 20th and 1650 free, where she placed 12th.  Karli Buday finished 24th in both the 100 and 200 Breastroke events and Cinberg finished ninth in the 100 Butterfly for the highest individual finish for the women.

“This was the best overall weekend we have ever had at the Wooster Invite," said Coach Josh Gurekovich.  "I am very proud of the team with how they performed against some of the best teams in the nation.”

The Lady Bearcats will return to action on January 19th when they travel to Bethany College for a Presidents' Athletic Conference meet.
