The Lady Bearcats went 1-1 in a tri-meet held at Penn State-Behrend, falling to the hsot Lions before claiming their first win of the season with a victory over Baldwin Wallace. Against PSU-Behrend, the Lady Bearcats were edged 114-104, while SVC defeated BW by a 148-66 score. Saint Vincent enjoyed particular success in Freestyle events throughout the afternoon. In the 200 Free, Jess Kennedy finished first, with a time of 2:08.05, edging out teammate Amanda Haile, who took second in 2:08.08. In the 50 Free, Katie Custer took first (25.39), Maggie Dempsey second (26.32), and Christine Dunleavy fourth (27.09), while Custer and Dempsey also finished first and second, respectively, in the 100 Free, with times of 56.00 and 58.59. Jayna Cline led the way for the Lady Bearcats in the 1,000 Free, taking second in 12:37.20, with Hannah Henke finishing third in 12:58.22. In the 500 Free, Amanda Haile finished second with a time of 5:48.46. Mary Kate Kenna earned first in the 200 Breast (2:40.29), with Dunleavy finishing second (2:43.13), while Kenna also earned a second-place finish in the 200 IM, timed in 2:26.30. In relay events, the team of Sarah Denning, Meredith Brown, Kenna, and Dunleavy took second in the 200 Medley, timed in 2:03.68, while Dempsey, Haile, Kennedy, and Custer teamed up for a first-place finish in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:44.79. The Lady Bearcats (1-2) will return to action on Friday, November 20th, hosting perennial Presidents' Athletic Conference power Grove City College at 6pm in SVC's Resnik Pool.
