Clarion University edged Saint Vincent 5-4 in a closely contested match in Latrobe.

Lori Orthen was a two-time winner on the day for SVC, winning her singles match and teaming with Sarah Rendulic for a doubles victory.

Other singles winners were Kim Meier, who remains undefeated in singles this season, and Allie Botti.

Rendulic came back from a 1-4 deficit in the second set to send the decisive singles match to a 10-point third 'set', but her Clarion counterpart pulled out a narrow 10-8 victory.

"That was one of the best matches of the year.  We played extremely well and I am very proud of our young ladies," said Coach Jim Bendel. 

SVC has a pair of matches on Sunday, hosting Chatham University at 1:00 and Mount Union College at 4PM.
