The Lady Bearcats opened the 2009 season with a 9-0 win over visiting Seton Hill University. It was the first match for Saint Vincent after losing its #1 and #2 singles players from last year - Meghan Wells is now finishing her education in a co-op program at Duquesne, and Kim Meier graduated this past spring - but the team came out with three solid doubles wins to open the day. Emily Morris and Alexis Cup were winners in the #1 doubles position, while Rebecca Cenkner and Megan Mahoney won at the #2 spot. The doubles sweep was completed by the team of Jessa Paruch and Nicole Peer at the #3 position. In singles action, Allie Botti, Cup, Morris, Brittany Vignero and Cenkner were all straight set winners. Mahoney dropped the first set but came back to win the match and complete the 9-0 sweep for Saint Vincent. The Lady Bearcats are back in action on Saturday at Bethany College.
