Saint Vincent LAH Foundation welcome Dr. Brian Volck

Dr. Brian Volck, center, author, poet, pediatrician, teacher and advocate for children and families in poverty, was the featured speaker in the Saint Vincent College Threshold Series on April 12 at the Fred M. Rogers Center. The event was jointly presented with the Ann Kinzer Clark, M.D. Memorial Lecture Series in cooperation with Latrobe Area Hospital Charitable Foundation. Welcoming Volck were, from left, Albert Novak Jr., M.P.M., vice president and chief development officer, Excela Health; Douglas Clark, secretary of the Latrobe Area Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, who introduced Volck; Dr. Thomas P. Gessner, M.D., president of the LAH Charitable Foundation Board; and Br. Norman W. Hipps, O.S.B., president of Saint Vincent College. The title of Volck’s talk was Reflections on ‘Attending Others: A Doctor’s Education in Bodies and Words.’
