Christmas Family Songfest Scheduled Dec. 14

LATROBE, PA – Saint Vincent College and Archabbey will host a Christmas Family Songfest at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14, in the Saint Vincent Archabbey Basilica.

The evening will be led by Thomas Octave, music director and associate professor of music, and the Saint Vincent College Singers and Festival Chorus.

The songfest will also feature solo performances by Fr. Cyprian Constantine, O.S.B., organist and director of liturgical formation for Saint Vincent Seminary; Greggory Brandt, director of Saint Vincent Summer Theatre; and Saint Vincent College alumnus Mitchell Farrell, C’18.

Father Cyprian will perform Louis Huybrecht’s “The First Noel” and César Franck’s “Venez, divin Messie.” Brandt will sing “Ave Marie” and join with Farrell for a duet of “O Holy Night.”

Other traditional songs will be performed and the audience will be invited to sing along on such numbers as “O Come All Ye Faithful, “We Three Kings,” “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” “Angels We Have Heard on High,” “Away in a Manger,” “Joy to the World” and more.
