  • About Janet Franicola Ed.D.

    Presently in higher education, Dr. Franicola is an instructor in both the undergraduate and graduate Education Departments. Dr. Franicola is the advisor for students in the secondary social studies and business, computer and information technology certificated areas.  She serves as the Education Department’s Assistant Department Chair, and is involved with the observation and mentoring of adjunct faculty members.  Currently she is assisting with a faculty wide professional development initiative in specific areas of interest.  This includes the infusion of the formative assessment topic area into the Education Department’s coursework and college class modeling. Recently she has formed a community partnership with the Adams Memorial Library in downtown Latrobe where her students perform social studies related literacy books for preschool audiences. Current topics of research for Dr. Franicola are in the field of human learning and in lesson design and delivery in the third space.
