Saint Vincent College junior communication major Kristina Mazzenga of Jeannette is a contestant in the Miss Pennsylvania USA Pageant.

Ms. Mazzenga will participate in the pageant which will be held at the Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh International Airport Hotel November 30 to December 2. It is the official state preliminary to the Miss Universe organization’s nationally-televised Miss USA Pageant.

“I am participating in the pageant because I feel that I could very well represent this beautiful state in a friendly and classy way,” Ms. Mazzenga commented. “I was born and raised in Pennsylvania and when it came time to choose colleges, I knew that I want to stay in this state. I really appreciate the gentle beauty of the state of Pennsylvania.”

A communication major at Saint Vincent, she has studied mass media, writing for media, public relations, advertising, web design and field production. After her graduation in May 2014, she plans to pursue a career as an anchor in television news.

At Saint Vincent, she has been a member of the dance team, the orientation committee and a member and officer of the Public Relations and Advertising Club.

Ms. Mazzenga has worked as a model with All Shades of Beauty in Pittsburgh and Diamond Models in Monroeville. She has also served as a model for the Saint Vincent College Art Department and as an on-camera narrator for a college-produced video about its academic conference. She has been interviewed for a segment about her modeling career by PCTV.

She is the recipient of scholarships from Gateway Band, Gateway Education Association and the Three Rivers Winter Ensemble Association.
