SVC, Westmoreland Choral to Present Messiah Dec. 8, 9

Pittsburgh Festival Orchestra, Saint Vincent College Singers and the Westmoreland Choral Society will join to present Handel’s Messiah at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 in the Saint Vincent Basilica.

Suggested donation is $10 at the door. For reserved tickets or further information, contact 724-805-2177.

The program will be conducted by Thomas Octave, assistant professor and chair of the music department at Saint Vincent and director of the Westmoreland Choral Society.

Sonya Caceres, Danielle Byrne, Kara Laus, Rebecca Skirpan and Edward Graybill will be soloists. The Rev. Cyprian Constantine, O.S.B., will be the organist.

The presentation is part of Saint Vincent College’s ongoing celebration of the Year of Faith in 2012-2013.
