Music Chair to Conduct Pittsburgh Festival Sunday

Thomas Octave, assistant professor and chair of the music department at Saint Vincent College, will conduct the Pittsburgh Festival Orchestra on Sunday, April 28, at 7 p.m. in an all-string music program at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church in the historic neighborhood of Highland Park, 5801 Hampton St., Pittsburgh.

The program will include Barber’s Adagio for Strings, Britten’s Simple Symphony and Pittsburgh composer Nancy Galbraith’s Zelo.

Soprano and WQED personality Anna Singer will solo with the orchestra and serve as master of ceremonies.

Tickets are available at the door for $10 for adults and $5 for students.
