Ms. Mary Alice Armour
Director of Wellness Center

I’m Mary Alice Armour, a registered nurse and Director of Wellness here at Saint Vincent College. I started working in the SVC Health Center in August of 1993, and became a director in 1995. My job gives me the opportunity to use my nursing skills in caring for patients, and to teach individuals about handling a disease process while care for themselves. Through our Healthy Campus initiative, I have the chance to advocate healthy living – physically, mentally and spiritually.

I am originally from Pittsburgh, and moved with my family to Unity Township in 1980. My husband Howard and I raised our two daughters here, and we are now the grandparents of three grandsons and one granddaughter.

My favorite things about Saint Vincent College are its excellent academic reputation, the wonderful people I get to work with everyday, and the family atmosphere.

I have had many memorable moments here on campus and cherish every one of them. My most recent is the construction of the SVC Labyrinth this spring, and its dedication this fall. Having a labyrinth has been a dream for five years and finally came to fruition through the support of our President, VPSA, the Senior Class of 2011, multiple individual donors, and several departments throughout the college. It is truly a community effort.

Study hard, make friends, and enjoy this time in your life. Take advantage of all Saint Vincent has to offer both in and out of the classroom.
