Operational Excellence

Saint Vincent College is proud to have one of the only Management departments in the United States to offer students in-depth training in Operational Excellence (to include the Toyota Production System, Value Stream Mapping, and Supply Chain Management) as well as cutting edge training in Management Information Systems (to include an SAP Business One certification program).

Operational Excellence focuses on the development of management strategies and tactics that result in greater productivity, lower cost, improved quality, and increased customer satisfaction. SVC students who pursue an education in Operational Excellence gain a distinct competitive advantage in the market.

    BA 102 Survey of Accounting (non-business majors only) or BA 100 Financial Accounting I and BA 150 Managerial Accounting I or BA 101 Financial Accounting II - 3 credits/3 credits - 6 credits
    BA 170 Organizational Theory - 3 credits
    BA 280 Leadership (must be taken at SVC) - 3 credits or BA 493 Supply Chain Management - 3 credits
    BA 386 Culture in Operational Excellence (First of OE sequence) - 3 credits
    BA 471 Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt Preparation (Fourth of OE sequence) - 3 credits
    BA 492 Operations Management - 3 credits
    BA 494 Quantitative Methods, Quality and Problem Solving in Operational Excellence - 3 credits


    In addition to the above, any one of the following, management majors must choose two:
    BA 364 Introduction to ERP Systems - 3 credits
    BA 394 Lean Assessment - 3 credits
    BA 467 Change Management - 3 credits
    BA 491 Operational Excellence in Service Industry with applications in the Healthcare Professions - 3 credits
