After working as a hospital pharmacist for eight years, Dr. Shawn Anderson in July 2001 became a member of the monastic community of Saint Vincent Archabbey. After completing a PhD in pharmacology at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2013, Dr. Anderson joined the faculty of the Biological Sciences Department of Saint Vincent College. He is the faculty advisor for the Upsilon Gamma Chapter of Tri Beta, the National Biology Honor Society.

Behavioral pharmacology, with a particular emphasis on behavioral effects of nicotine at high and low sensitivity nicotinic acetylcholine receptors.
