Elizabeth Barker, PhD

About

Born and raised in Maine, Barker studied Art History at Yale and the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, where her research focused on Italian Renaissance drawings and British Romantic paintings, drawings, and prints. Before joining Saint Vincent, Barker served as an associate curator of drawings and prints at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and director of Colgate University’s Picker Art Gallery, Amherst College’s Mead Art Museum, the Boston Athenæum, and the Frick Pittsburgh. When she's not working with art, Barker enjoys spending time with her rambunctious rescue dogs and human family members, reading, baking, and traveling.
