Matthias P. Hühn studied Business Economics at Hannover University, holds an MPhil (Management, Economics, Politics) and an MLitt (Literature and Society) from St Andrews University and a PhD from St. Gallen University. He worked in banking and for Accenture as a strategy consultant before becoming a professor at a German public university. He was a reservist in the German armed forces until 2022. Professor Hühn has held positions and taught at universities around the world, including the University of Navarra, China Europe International Business School, the University of Witten/Herdecke, the British University of Egypt, and ESCP Europe. His research is on the philosophical foundations, epistemic and ethical, of management and economics. A 2016 paper on management education in the Journal of Management Development won the Emerald Literati Award and a 2019 paper in the Journal of Business Ethics received the inaugural R. Edward Freeman Journal of Business Ethics Philosophy in Practice Best Paper Award. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Philosophy of Management, and serves as an Associate Editor for Business Ethics, the Environment & Responsibility.
