Dr. Stacy G. Birmingham, who joined Saint Vincent College in 2018, is the James F. Will Professor of Engineering and the chair of the engineering programs. She began her academic career at the University of Michigan, where she held tenured positions in the Chemical Engineering Department and the Macromolecular Science & Engineering Department. At Michigan, she also served as the director of the program in manufacturing, an interdisciplinary graduate program, and as the director of the Center for Advanced Polymer Engineering Research. After 15 years at Michigan, Dr. Birmingham joined Grove City College as a professor of engineering. She served 13 years as the Dean of Science, Engineering, and Mathematics at Grove City, and in that time more than doubled the STEM major and minor offerings of the college. She won the Presidential Young Investigator Award from the National Science Foundation and the 38E Award for Teaching and Service from the University of Michigan.
