Saint Vincent Summer Theatre continues July 8 with “Showstoppers: A Broadway Musical Revue”

LATROBE, PA – Saint Vincent Summer Theatre (SVST) is set to continue its 55th season with “Showstoppers: A Broadway Musical Revue.” The show will run from July 8 through 13.

Following “Showstoppers” will be “Forever Plaid” (September 9–14) and “The Songs of the Season II: A Christmas Concert” (December 5–7).

“Showstoppers” is a look back on the musical history of the last 50 years and will feature many showstopping musical selections from many of the favorite musicals during that time, including “The Wiz,” “42nd Street,” “Cats,” “Les Misérables,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Wicked,” “Once” and “Hamilton”¾all performed by Broadway veterans and a showstopping ensemble.

“It’s time to sit back and enjoy some of the most gorgeous and passionate music within the realms of the Broadway stage,” said Greggory Brandt, producing artistic director for SVST. “This cast is extremely talented and remarkably kind and has what it takes to pull off such challenging, memorable and showstopping music.”

The cast of “Showstoppers” includes JD Daw; Lori Eve Marinacci; David Toole; Madeline Grace Smith; Leah Prestogeorge; Malcolm McGraw; Brooks Brady; Reilly McKay, C’25; Andrew Downs, senior mathematics major; Abby McGinnis, senior music performance major; McKenna Howell; and Kaley Lazere, C’25.

All shows this season are directed by Brandt, who is also an assistant professor of theater at the College, and will take place in the Performing Arts Center, located within the Robert S. Carey Student Center on campus. Each summertime production has eight performances with matinees on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm. Wednesdays and Saturdays will also have two performances. All evening performances begin at 7:30 pm. The Cabaret, the post-show reception outside on the Carey Center patio, has also returned this summer. There will be a charge of $5 per person, which will include hotdogs, popcorn and various drinks for patrons’ enjoyment.

Complimentary transportation will be provided from the parking areas to the Performing Arts Center. Handicap parking closer to the theater is also available.
