LATROBE, PA – Saint Vincent Summer Theatre (SVST) is set to return this summer for its 55th season with three shows: “The Foreigner” (June 10–15), “Showstoppers: A Broadway Musical Revue” (July 8–13), “Forever Plaid” (September 9–14) and “The Songs of the Season II: A Christmas Concert” (December 5–7).
The season’s opener, “The Foreigner,” is a comedy about a shy Englishman who stays at a fishing lodge in Georgia, USA, and the quirky characters he meets there.
“It’s time to laugh at this classic comedy, “The Foreigner,” by Larry Shue, where hilarity and listening truly is everything,” said Greggory Brandt, producing artistic director for SVST. “This talented cast has what it takes to tell this comical story and showcase these unique characters.”
“The Foreigner” will star Timothy J. Cox, Lawrence Lesher, Danuta Jacob, James Taylor, Megan Taylor, Thom Brown III and Nathan Bell.
All shows this season are directed by Brandt, who is also an assistant professor of theater at the College, and will take place in the Performing Arts Center, located within the Robert S. Carey Student Center on campus. Each summertime production has eight performances with matinees on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm. Wednesdays and Saturdays will also have two performances. All evening performances begin at 7:30 pm. The Cabaret, the post-show reception outside on the Carey Center patio, also returns this summer. There will be a charge of $5 per person, which will include hotdogs, popcorn and various drinks for patrons’ enjoyment.
