by Public Relations | July 24, 2025

LATROBE, PA – Saint Vincent College has been named a College of Distinction for the third consecutive year, highlighting its commitment to engaged, experiential education.

Saint Vincent earned College of Distinction status for 2025-26 both overall and in several subcategories: Catholic Colleges, Pennsylvania Colleges, Career Development, Business Programs, and Education Programs.

“This honor recognizes the success and hard work of our students, alumni and faculty,” said Fr. Paul Taylor, O.S.B., C’87, S’91, president of Saint Vincent College. “Our students set ambitious goals and pursue excellence, both in the classroom and throughout their careers and lives.”

The recognition is based on four evaluation criteria used to identify institutions that make a meaningful impact on students’ lives: student engagement, great teaching, vibrant community and successful outcomes. Schools are accepted after extensive research and interviews with school officials to show their strength in these areas.

“Our goal is to celebrate institutions that help students find their place, their purpose, and their potential,” said Tyson Schritter, chief operating officer at Colleges of Distinction. “Saint Vincent College stands out for creating an environment where students thrive not just academically, but as whole people.”

Since 2000, Colleges of Distinction has honored schools that demonstrate a dedicated focus on the undergraduate experience. It highlights institutions that champion educational impact, evaluating initiatives like first-year seminars, collaborative undergraduate research projects and experiential learning in addition to traditional ranking factors.
