2025 Athletic Hall of Fame Class Announced

LATROBE, Pa. (Aug. 18) – The Saint Vincent College Athletics Department and Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Relations are pleased to announce the 2025 induction class of the Saint Vincent College Athletics Hall of Fame.

The group of standouts consists of Will Delanoy, C'12 (men's lacrosse), Joey Butler, C'09 (men's basketball), Dr. Andrew Herr (cross country), J.C. Howard, C'16 (men's basketball), Martin Corcoran, C'74 (wrestling), Alyssa Taylor, C'14 (women's swimming), the 2012-13 women's tennis team, and the 2004 baseball team.

The five former student-athletes, one head coach, and the two team's will be inducted on Sept. 27 and will be recognized on the field during halftime of that day's home football game against Hiram College at Chuck Noll Field.

Will Delanoy, C'12 – Men's Lacrosse

Will Delanoy was a four-year standout student-athlete and one of the top players in Saint Vincent men's lacrosse history.

During his collegiate playing career, Delanoy was one of the most prolific offensive players to come through the program. He amassed 242 career points, which is second all-time in program history. He scored 141 goals while dishing out 101 assists, which is the second most in program history.

After graduating from Saint Vincent, Delanoy went on to coach lacrosse at the club, high school and college levels. He also continued his academic career by receiving a master's degree in special education from Southern New Hampshire University.

Currently, he is a 6th grade social studies teacher in Nashua, NH, varsity head coach at Nashua South High School, president of the Nashua Blast Youth Lacrosse Organization and is an assistant coach for the men's lacrosse team at Rivier University.

Delanoy is also the founder of Academy 22, which specializes in the growth and development for youth lacrosse players throughout New Hampshire.

Delanoy currently resides in Nashua New Hampshire with his wife, Emma, C'12, and two sons, Ronan and Griffin.

Joey Butler, C'09 – Men's Basketball

Joey Butler was a member of the Saint Vincent men's basketball team from 2007-2009 and will go down as one of the top players in the program's history.

Throughout his career at SVC, Butler helped lead the Bearcats to 40-plus wins¾including an ECAC Division III Championship. Butler earned All-Conference honors twice, securing Coaches Honors in 2007-2008 and then again in 2008-2009.

In his first season with SVC, Butler started in all 26 games. He averaged 17.2 points per game while also dishing out five assists and grabbing five rebounds each per game as well.

He followed that up by starting in all 25 games in the 2008-2009 season, during which he averaged 20 points, six assists and five rebounds per game.

Butler finished his Saint Vincent career with 949 points, and he also holds the single-game program record for assists with 16, achieving this feat in a game against Waynesburg in 2009.

After graduating in 2009, Butler continued his basketball career with the Alexandria Avengers in the American Professional Basketball League (APBL).

Dr. Andrew Herr – Coach Cross Country

Dr. Andrew "Andy" Herr has been a cornerstone of Saint Vincent College's athletic and academic communities since joining the faculty in 1996.

A professor of economics and chair of the Department of Economics since 2022, Dr. Herr became the head coach of the men's cross country team in 2003, a position he held for 19 years. Under his leadership, the Bearcats secured seven consecutive Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) cross country titles from 2010 to 2016.

His coaching excellence earned him PAC Coach of the Year honors seven times during this period. He has served multiple terms on Faculty Council and for many years has served on the Compensation and Academic Status Committees. In 2007, he received the Boniface Wimmer Faculty Award, which recognizes continuing, distinguished achievement and loyal service to Saint Vincent College and its students.

Dr. Herr's athletic prowess dates back to his own running career. He was a two-time high school state champion in Ohio, winning the cross country title in 1982 and the 3200-meter track title in 1983. A 1987 graduate of North Carolina State University, he was a three-time NCAA qualifier in cross country and an All-ACC performer in track. Notably, he qualified for the 2000 Olympic Trials in the marathon with a time of 2:21:26.

Today, Dr. Herr enjoys outdoor activities, including running, hiking and mountain biking. He is married with two daughters and lives in Greensburg with his wife, Pilar.

J.C. Howard, C'16 – Men's Basketball

J.C. Howard was a four-year distinguished guard for the men's basketball program under Head Coach D.P. Harris, C'13, Director of Athletics.

Howard amassed 1,055 career points from 2012-2016 for the Bearcats. Throughout his collegiate career, Howard earned multiple All-PAC honors, including Honorable Mention recognition in 2015 and 2016.

Playing in 110 games to accumulate his 1,055 points, Howard also racked up 359 rebounds, 298 assists and 143 steals. During his four seasons, he helped lead Saint Vincent to four straight PAC Tournament Championships, earning bids to the NCAA National Tournament each year.

Howard received a bachelor's degree in finance and investment management before becoming a wealth management financial advisor for CAPTRUST.

At CAPTRUST, Howard works with a multi-generational team of private wealth advisors focused exclusively on the financial needs of accomplished families and institutions. He is also a member of CAPTRUST's New Money Buy List Committee, which provides CAPTRUST advisors with an approved "buy" list of individual stock recommendations.

Howard holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Pittsburgh. Along with the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, he is a Certified Financial Planner professional and a member of the Financial Planning Association of Pittsburgh.

Howard is a lifelong Pittsburgher, having grown up in the North Hills where he still lives with his wife, Katie, C'16, whom he met at Saint Vincent; their son, Elliot; and their golden retriever, Butter.

Martin Corcoran, C'74 – Wrestling

Martin Corcoran was one of the most dominant wrestlers in the early portion of the Saint Vincent wrestling program.

Wrestling primarily in the 167-pound and 177-pound weight classes, Corcoran amassed an impressive 60-plus career collegiate victories, 30 of which came by pinfall. Corcoran led the Bearcats in wins during multiple seasons and was recognized throughout the region as one of the top competitors in his weight class.

During his senior season, Corcoran served as team captain and posted a standout record of 17-3, with 10 pins, helping guide Saint Vincent to one of its most competitive team campaigns to that point. He earned multiple individual tournament titles and was a regular place winner at the prestigious NAIA District Championships, competing against some of the toughest programs in the region.

Corcoran was drafted into the United States Army in 1969 and served from 1969-1971. In the army, he was a sergeant in the 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile). Corcoran received a number of military medals, including the Presidential Citation, Bronze Star and air medals. During his time, he served an extended tour in Vietnam and Cambodia.

After returning from Vietnam, Martin came back to and graduated from Saint Vincent. After graduation, he began his career in retail and wholesale distribution in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Corcoran is a 9/11 survivor as he was living at Ground Zero during the time of the terrorist attack.

Martin is currently retired and living in Florida with his wife, Nelle.

Alyssa Taylor, C'14 – Women's Swimming

Alyssa was a two-year member of the women's swimming team at Saint Vincent under Head Coach Josh Gurekovich, quickly becoming one of the top swimmers in program history.

Taylor was a two-time First Team All-PAC recipient. During her junior season, Taylor became the first ever Saint Vincent swimmer to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Championships after finishing second in the conference finals in the 100-fly.

In that same season, Taylor set program records in the 500-freestyle, 1000-freestyle, 100-fly and 200-fly. She was also a part of the school-record setting relay teams in the 400-freestyle, 800-freestyle, 200-medley and 400-medley, while also earning a third-place finish in the 200-fly.

During her senior season, she continued her record-breaking streak, setting the school record and breaking her own in the 200-fly. Taylor also finished second in the conference 100-fly and third in the 200-fly.

After graduating from SVC, Taylor earned her master's degree in child psychology from Duquesne University in 2017, followed by a post-master's certification in applied behavior analysis from California University of Pennsylvania in 2018. She became a board-certified behavior analyst in 2020. In her current role, she is a part of the leadership team and mentor new clinicians.

2012-2013 Women's Tennis Team

Under the leadership of Head Coach Dr. Christopher McMahon, professor of theology, the 2012-2013 women's tennis team was one of the top teams in program history.

The Bearcats finished the year as 14-0 overall and a perfect 9-0 in the PAC. Saint Vincent was crowned Co-Champions of the PAC, earning the program's first ever berth in the NCAA National Tournament. Dr. McMahon was named the PAC Coach of the Year for the team's accomplishments.

During the historic season, Saint Vincent was led by Jessica McKetta, C'13, who won fifth singles championship by a score of 6-2, 6-0. Kylie (Auman) Centore, C'15, also picked up an individual championship for SVC at number six singles, with a 6-1, 6-3 victory.

Jacquelyn Hauser, C'16; Shayla Landman, C 16; and Amanda Gans, C'14, all earned runner-up individual finishes at the championship, helping SVC to clinch the automatic NCAA Tournament berth.

Stephanie (Rubin) Murray, C'13, picked up a third-place individual finish as well. In doubles, the team of McKetta and Auman took home the championship in the third spot, while Gans and Landman finished second in the top doubles position, and Rubin and Hauser picked up a third-place result at second doubles.

2004 Baseball Team

Under the guidance of Head Coach Mick Janosko, the 2004 Saint Vincent baseball team will go down as one of the most accomplished teams in program history.

The Bearcats finished the season as the American Mideast Conference champions and runners-up in the Region IX Tournament. Saint Vincent won 26 games over the course of the year, which is the second most wins in a season in program history.

Janosko was named the AMC North and Region IX Coach of the Year, while Joe Pichler, C'05, was named the AMC North Player of the Year. SVC defeated Shawnee State in the AMC Tournament to advance to the NAIA Region IX Tournament.

Along with Janosko being named Coach of the Year, Saint Vincent had nine All-Conference players, including four on the first team. Pichler, along with Shaun Wenz, C'04; Mike Hermann, C'05; and Kevin Brogan, C'06, all earned first team honors.

Danny Consuegra, C'06, G'15; Aaron Wilson, C'04; Jeremiah Scott, C'05; and Christopher "Kip" Watkins, C'05, earned Second Team honors, while outfielder Russ Daniels, C'06, was named to the Honorable Mention team.
