Keep Our Republic, Westmoreland Bar Association to host public forum Sept. 24 at Saint Vincent College

by Public Relations | September 22, 2025

LATROBE, PA — On Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m., former state Gov. Tom Corbett and former federal judge Robert Cindrich will participate in a forum at Saint Vincent College titled “The Independent Court: What It Is and Why It Matters.” The event will be moderated by Dr. Jason Jividen, associate professor of political science at SVC.

Cindrich and Corbett will discuss and answer questions on several timely and significant topics, including the judiciary’s critical role in upholding democratic principles and the need to protect judicial independence at the state and federal levels.

This event, which is expected to last 90 minutes, comes after Keep Our Republic launched its Article III Coalition, made up of more than 40 retired federal judges appointed by five presidents of both parties. The bipartisan coalition’s judges, including Cindrich, are dedicated to American democracy, the rule of law, and the separation of powers between three co-equal branches of government.

The judges recently issued a letter calling on Americans to uphold judicial independence and protect against “[m]isinformation, disinformation and fiery rhetoric” that can “distort public understanding of the judiciary’s critical role in maintaining our democracy.”

The event is open to the press. In addition, panelists will be available for in-person and remote interviews prior to the event starting at 5:30 p.m. They are also available for advance interviews about the event leading up to Sept. 24.
