Mike Urick and the Modelaires set to open Saint Vincent College Concert Series

by Public Relations | September 10, 2025

Mike Urick and the Modelaires will open the fall 2025 season of the Saint Vincent College Concert Series later this month.

Led by Dr. Michael Urick, C’04, dean of the Alex G. McKenna School of Business, Economics and Government, the band will perform Friday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, located within the Robert S. Carey Student Center on campus. Admission is free.

Mike Urick and the Modelaires is touted as western Pennsylvania’s premier Americana Mardi Gras-inspired party band with its retro horn rock and vintage hot jazz.

“I've been playing music for nearly 30 years, and it's always been a fun thing for me to do on the side,” Urick said. “It's interesting for me to play at Saint Vincent because performing on stage on campus is a very different experience than being dean of the McKenna School. It's an opportunity for me to see the campus from a different perspective, and for students, faculty, staff and alumni to see me in a different light as well.

“I've been on the stage at the Performing Arts Center many times, but it's usually in an academic role such as to talk with students or prospective families about our programs in the McKenna School. It will be fun to be on the stage this time to play some music.”

The Saint Vincent College Concert Series is dedicated to enriching the local community by presenting outstanding musical performances and fostering connections between music and academic excellence.
