LATROBE, PA – The Saint Vincent College Concert Series will continue later this week with a classical piano recital from J. Christopher Pardini.
Pardini’s free performance on Friday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. in the Saint Vincent Basilica Crypt will be the first public hearing of the Basilica’s recently installed Steinway concert grand piano.
Enjoy the timeless elegance of Mendelssohn’s “Three Caprices” and the exquisite lyricism of Mozart's beloved “Sonata in A Major,” concluding with the charming “Rondo alla Turca.” Works by Johannes Brahms, Franz Liszt and arrangements of familiar hymns and spirituals round out this program of memorable music.
Pardini has a Master of Music in organ performance and literature, is a nationally recognized specialist in sacred music and has composed orchestrations for famed music groups. As director of the College Concert Series; Director of Music and Liturgy at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral Parish in Greensburg; Cathedral Organist for the Diocese of Greensburg; and instructor of organ, piano, sacred music, and music theory at SVC, Pardini is deeply committed to fostering love for the arts in his community.
