LATROBE, PA – Renowned American violinist Andrew Sords will present “From Vienna to Prague” at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, in the Saint Vincent Archabbey Basilica Crypt.
Sords, who has appeared for important recital series and with acclaimed orchestras worldwide, has been cited for “a flawless performance displaying not only mastery of his instrument but also maturity and sensitivity,” according to the Arizona Sun. He will perform alongside four collaborators as part of the Saint Vincent College Concert Series.
Collaborators include Michael DeBruyn, a Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra cellist; Elizabeth DeMio, a virtuoso pianist; Mari Sato, viola; and Daniel Singer, baritone and music director of the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh. Selections include music composed by Antonín Leopold Dvořák, Gustav Mahler and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
General admission is $10 at the door. Payment by cash or credit/debit card will be accepted. Entry for all students is free provided they have a valid SVC student ID card.
