About the Wimmer Scholarship

The Wimmer Scholarship program is named after Archabbot Boniface Wimmer, O.S.B., who founded Saint Vincent College in 1846 as the first Benedictine college in the United States. The program recognizes high school students with outstanding academic abilities and encourages them to pursue a quality undergraduate education at Saint Vincent College.

Scholarship winners are determined based on their performance on a written examination administered at Saint Vincent. The exam is open to college-bound students who have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.75 and a documented SAT score of at least 1,250 or a minimum ACT score of 26 or a CLT score of 88. A standardized test score is required to sit for the exam unless a student has a minimum 3.75 GPA and has completed at least six AP courses.
