Saint Vincent Camerata presents “Go to Joseph” March 20

LATROBE, PA – The Saint Vincent Camerata will present a program of choral music titled “Ite Ad Joseph (Go to Joseph)” at 8 p.m. Friday, March 20, inside the Saint Vincent Archabbey Basilica.

The performance, which is expected to last one hour, is part of the Saint Vincent College Concert Series. The program will feature Franz Joseph Haydn’s “Little Organ Mass” with organ and strings.

Two motets composed by Claudio Monteverdi, Gregorian chants, and a cappella works are also included in the program. Other featured sacred compositions include those by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Charles Villiers Stanford, Lodovico Grossi da Viadana and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Chaz Bowers will conduct the camerata while J. Christopher Pardini will play the organ. Pardini instructs a wide range of music classes at the College, including organ, piano, sacred music and music theory. He also serves as director of music and liturgy at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral Parish in Greensburg and is the Cathedral organist for the Diocese of Greensburg.

Rev. Stephen Concordia, O.S.B., will conduct the Gregorian Chant Schola.

General admission is $10 at the door. Payment by cash or credit/debit card will be accepted. Monastic community members are welcomed free of charge; entry for all students, faculty and staff is free provided they have a valid SVC ID card.
