LATROBE, PA – In celebration of the NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, Saint Vincent College students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends gathered on Thursday night, April 23, for a First Round Watch Party inside the Fred M. Rogers Center on campus.

The party, which kicked off at 7:30 p.m., featured free food and beverages throughout the evening and a VIP refreshment area for guests aged 21 and over.

Guests were encouraged to wear Pittsburgh Steelers gear or represent their favorite NFL teams as they watched the draft unfold on the North Shore.

Father Maximilian Maxwell, O.S.B., C’07, S’14, advisor to the president for mission and prior of Saint Vincent Archabbey, attended the on-campus event to pump up and bless the crowd. He gained national fame after being caught on camera blessing the field at Acrisure Stadium prior to a pivotal Jan. 4 game against the Baltimore Ravens. The Steelers won the game, 26-24, and clinched the AFC North crown.

During the first round, the Steelers selected Arizona State offensive tackle Max Iheanachor with the 21st overall pick of the draft.

Saint Vincent College has hosted the Pittsburgh Steelers Training Camp on campus since 1966.
