LATROBE, PA – The Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh will return to Saint Vincent College later this month for a special evening of music.

The concert, scheduled for Friday, Sept. 18, at 7:30 p.m., will feature Franz Schubert’s Symphony No. 6 and “Ocean of Quiet” by emerging American composer Simon Rivet.

As part of the performance, the Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh will feature the winners of its annual Young Artist Concerto Competition. Winners for the 2026-27 season are Annika Pollock, clarinetist, senior division (ages 18-25) and Amelia Beer, violinist, junior division (up to age 18). Pollock will perform Louis Spohr’s Clarinet Concerto No. 2, first movement, while Beer will perform Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3, first movement.

“The Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh holds this annual competition to celebrate the young musicians of our region and to provide them with a unique opportunity of being a soloist with a professional ensemble,” said Andrew Swensen, executive director of the Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh.

Pollock is a clarinetist and teacher based in Pittsburgh. She is currently pursuing a Master of Music in clarinet performance at Carnegie Mellon University. Beer is a 17-year-old violin student who has been playing since age 4. She attends Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts for violin and is concertmaster of its symphony orchestra.

The event will be held in the Performing Arts Center, located within the Robert S. Carey Student Center on campus.

General admission is $10 at the door. Payment by cash or credit/debit card will be accepted. Monastic community members are welcomed free of charge; entry for all faculty, staff and students is free with a valid SVC ID card.
