E-Bikes and Electric Scooters

The College prohibits the use, possession, and storage of electric bicycles (e‑bikes), electric scooters, hoverboards, and similar motorized personal mobility devices (“Devices”) on all campus property. Students may not operate these Devices anywhere on campus, including sidewalks, walkways, roads, green spaces, or parking areas, and may not bring or keep them on campus except where expressly authorized by the College.

For safety reasons, including fire risks associated with lithium‑ion batteries, Devices are strictly prohibited in all residence halls. This includes student rooms, suites, common areas, and storage spaces, and extends to charging Devices or their batteries. Violations may result in confiscation, fines or fees, and referral to the student conduct process, as well as additional sanctions. Mobility devices used as disability accommodations are exempt from this policy. Bicycles (non-electric) and skateboards may be stored in a student’s residence hall room.
