Accounting and Finance Club: This student-run club promotes accounting and finance topics, organizes visits to firms, and generally encourages financial literacy among its members.
American Medical Student Association: AMSA is a nationally recognized organization for physicians-in-training. This club, established in 2015, provides an environment that supports the creative ideas of pre-medical students and serves as a forum for discussing health issues that can lead to changes in the medical education process.
Chemistry Club: Experience the fun side of chemistry! This club gives members the chance to demonstrate what they've learned in exciting ways, including safe experiments. Gamma Sigma Epsilon, the Chemistry Honors Society within the club, promotes academic excellence and undergraduate research in chemistry.
Communication Club
Computer Science Club: An opportunity for those interested in computing to discuss current research and development, showcase student work, and provide community feedback. The club fosters growth in academic and social endeavors.
Cybersecurity Club: Our vision is to use tools learned independently and in class to better ourselves for the workforce and general life through competitions, training, and experience.
Data Science and Analytics: This club brings together students with a shared interest in exploring, analyzing, communicating, and learning from data. It provides opportunities to participate in data competitions and hackathons, and to demonstrate creative uses of data. Students from all majors are welcome!
Early Childhood Education Club: Offers a variety of events involving working with children, community service, and professional development opportunities. All certification areas and majors are welcome!
Education Club: Shares valuable professional information and experiences through meetings, events, and field trip opportunities for all education majors.
Engineering Club: Helps future engineers get immersed in the field by providing tours of local companies. The club also plans the annual Pasta Bridge Engineering Competition.
Finance and Accounting Club:
History Club: Creates unity among those who desire to understand the world by uncovering the past. Members participate in insightful conversations with historical context, focusing on recovering the stories of people often excluded from the historical narrative.
MADCOMM (Media, Advertising, Communications): An engaging experience for students interested in media, advertising, communication, public relations, graphic design, marketing, pop culture, art, and more. The club offers various networking opportunities and experiences through behind-the-scenes visits to local organizations, as well as on-campus speakers and events.
Math Club: Provides students with opportunities to be involved in mathematics outside the classroom, strengthens the community of mathematics majors and minors, and invites students to have fun with mathematics. The club hosts speakers, participates in competitions, and encourages discussions on mathematical topics.
Mock Trial Team: A nationally competitive organization where students develop and deliver arguments based on a court case prepared by the National Mock Trial Association. Each year, the team competes against other colleges and universities at highly competitive invitational tournaments. While many participants intend to go to law school, the process allows students in any program to build strong logic and debate skills.
Operational Excellence Club: Focuses on continuous improvement, problem-solving, and waste reduction as part of a management philosophy.
Physics Club: Also known as "The Magnet Club," it facilitates interest in physics for students from various majors. The club participates in events around campus and the Pittsburgh area and hosts academic and research information sessions.
Pre-SOMA: Aims to educate and promote interest in osteopathic medicine, which offers a holistic and hands-on approach to healthcare. The club provides a community for those interested in osteopathic medicine and prepares members for acceptance into osteopathic medical schools.
Psychology Club: Open to all majors and students interested in psychology. The club organizes events to raise awareness about mental health issues, promote positive well-being, and foster a sense of community.
SNAP (Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania): Provides direct input into standards of nursing education and influences the educational process. Promotes recruitment efforts, participation in student activities, and educational opportunities. Encourages a collaborative relationship with nursing and related health organizations in Pennsylvania.
STEM Education Club: Creates a community of students who value all aspects of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and learn how to incorporate it into education. Offers opportunities for STEM enrichment and professional development using tools like laser engravers and 3-D printers.
SVConomics
Thomistic Institute: A club focused on exploring and discussing the works and ideas of St. Thomas Aquinas and related philosophical and theological topics.
Women in Business: Enhances professional development through executive lecture series, networking panels, etiquette training, community outreach, and fundraising events. Open to all students, regardless of major or gender.
Women in STEM: Builds a community among women in science, technology, engineering, and math fields. The club leads, inspires, and mentors women to embrace their power, purpose, and value, aiming to empower all women to reach their full potential.
