Student Mail and Post Office Guidelines

Your Mailing Address Format

Use the following format on all incoming mail and packages:

Your First Name and Last Name
Box # St Vincent College
300 Fraser Purchase Rd
Latrobe PA 15650
  • Always include your box number. Do not use your dorm name or room number—mail is not delivered to residence halls.
  • You can find your box number in the black book at the Post Office counter.

Sending Mail & Packages (USPS/UPS/FedEx)

  • Address packages properly and include your SVC box number as the return address.
  • All packages must have a return address.
  • You can purchase any amount of postage at the Post Office counter.
  • Packages over 13 ounces must have a meter strip (not stamps).
  • UPS and FedEx shipments are priced and paid at the window.
  • Prepaid items can be left at the window.
  • If the Post Office is closed and you need postage added, place the item in the housemail slot with your account number in the corner.

Housemail

  • Mark all housemail clearly with the recipient’s box number.
  • If sending multiple items, bring them to the window for faster processing.
  • Please return empty housemail envelopes to the Post Office.

Receiving Mail & Packages

  • Regular mail is placed directly in your box.
  • If you receive a package, you’ll get an “ASK FOR PACKAGE” ticket in your box or an email notification.
  • Do not come to the window unless you’ve received a ticket or email.
  • If your package isn’t picked up by 1:30 PM, you’ll receive a reminder email.
  • If expecting mail addressed to a parent’s name, notify the Post Office so they can locate it for you.
  • Mail typically arrives around 9:30 AM and is sorted before lunch.

Mailbox Keys

  • Pick up your mailbox key at the Campus Post Office (Headmasters Hall – 1st floor near the Community Center).
  • Keep your key for your entire time at Saint Vincent.
  • Return your key upon graduation or withdrawal to avoid a $75 fee.
  • Lost keys can be replaced for $5.
