Lift the next generation as an SVC Career Exploration Partner
Saint Vincent College’s mission is “to provide quality undergraduate and graduate education for men and women to enable them to integrate their professional aims with the broader purposes of human life. In support of this mission, the College is seeking alumni volunteers to connect with first-year students as part of the Career Exploration Partnership Program.
Immersed in a new career exploration unit in their first-year writing course, students interview a Saint Vincent alumni working in a field that they're interested in exploring. By serving as a conversation partner, you’ll help our students explore career pathways and think critically about their long-term goals.

We believe this initiative will be vital to students’ education at Saint Vincent College. Students are introduced to key career competencies and tools that help them understand how their liberal arts and sciences education prepares them for diverse professional paths. The interactions with Saint Vincent alumni are a central component of this first-year writing unit.
Our Alumni Relations Office and Career and Professional Development staff will match alumni volunteers with students. The students will then compose a professional introductory email to reach out to you; they will write interview questions to conduct a 30-40-minute conversation in which they learn about your field, career trajectory, and the skills that shaped your path, and seek your advice. Following the interview, students will research an issue in your field to write about and, finally, reflect on what they’ve learned about both the profession and themselves.
