Financial Clearance
All students must be financially cleared PRIOR TO moving into the residence halls, attending classes, or participating in any SVC-related functions such as marching band, athletics, or clubs.
- Students without financial clearance who arrive on official move-in day will not be permitted to move in and will be directed to resolve their balance before proceeding.
- Students without financial clearance who arrive early for athletics, marching band, or clubs will not be permitted to move in.
Three Options for Financial Clearance
After accepting your financial aid and awards, you can pay the remaining balance using one or more of the following options:
- Pay the semester in full by check or credit card. Note: a processing fee will be charged for all credit/debit card transactions. There is no additional fee for payment by check. Discover how to Make a Payment or go directly to the Student Self Service Portal to make a payment.
- Sign up for our interest-free payment plan. Discover how to Set Up a Payment Plan and call the Business Office at 724-805-2248 for current details or go directly to the Student Self Service Portal.
- Apply for a Parent PLUS loan (apply at studentaid.gov) or a Private Education Loan (www.elmselect.com) to pay your remaining balance.
Confirmation of Financial Clearance
- You will receive a message on your Student Self Service Portal beginning in early August or early January (depending on the semester) indicating that you have financial clearance.
- If you do not have this message when you log into the Student Self Service Portal, contact the Business Office at 724-805-2248 to address the balance. If you have questions concerning financial aid, contact the Financial Aid Office at 724-805-2555.
Accounts not paid in full through one of the options above will be charged a late payment fee.
