SVC Players to present “While the Lights Were Out” Nov. 3-5

LATROBE, PA—The Saint Vincent College Players will be presenting three performances of the mystery “While the Lights Were Out” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, and Saturday, Nov. 4, with a matinee performance at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5 in the Performing Arts Center of the Robert S. Carey Student Center on the Saint Vincent Campus.

Tickets are all general admission and will be available beginning one hour prior to each show in the box office of the Performing Arts Center. The theatre doors will open 30 minutes prior to the start of each performance. The cost is $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Saint Vincent students, faculty, staff and Benedictines will be admitted free with valid ID.

“While the Lights Were Out” is a comedic murder mystery by Jack Sharkey. The Players’ production is directed by Greggory Brant, assistant professor of theatre and producing artistic director of Saint Vincent Summer Theatre.

“This delightful evening of mystery and mayhem gallops about the stage and should leave you breathless with surprise and laughter,” remarked Brandt. “These talented students perform this material masterfully.”

The cast includes:

  • Anna Rose Doelling, a senior biology major from Latrobe, as Lady Monica Wickenham
  • Brayden Gibson, a junior environmental engineering major from Warren, OH, as Lord Clive Wickenham / Tom Groggins
  • Caitlin Hopkins, a junior digital art and media major from Lower Burrell, as Nancy Stafford
  • Kelly Burd, an undeclared sophomore from Latrobe, as Mimosa
  • Joe Valenty, a senior economics major from Carnegie, as Remley
  • Spencer Millay, a junior vocal performance and criminology double major from Montoursville, as Benjamin Braddock 
  • Nora Cabala, a sophomore data science major from Summerhill, as Alma Threedle
  • Rachel Andreola, a senior mathematics major from Pittsburgh, as Bibi Cavendish
  • Reilly McKay, a junior communication and digital art and media double major from Ligonier, as Pierre Pourri
  • Lindsey Benjamin, a junior biology major from St. Marys, as Jasmine Perdoo
  • Erin Brody, a junior theology and English double major from Homestead, as Fredonia Custardine
  • Abigail McGinnis, a sophomore vocal performance major from Hollsopple, as Chloe Custardine
  • Andrew Downs, a sophomore mathematics and music double major from Loyalhanna, as Algernon Wickenham
  • Elizabeth Van Pilsum, a junior English major from Columbus, OH, as Unidentified Blonde

Kate Lipscomb, a sophomore data science major from Harmony, will serve as stage manager, and Olivia Carr, a sophomore psychology and English double major from Baden, and Kyra White, from Whitney, a freshman business management major are assistant stage managers.

Maggie Sullivan, a senior vocal performance major from Waldorf, MD is a crew member, and Beth Shari will serve as costume designer.
