There will be two sessions of student presentations: 2:45 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The conference is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.

Oral and poster presentations will be held in the Sis and Herman Dupré Science Pavilion. Art and design projects will be displayed in the Verostko Center for the Arts, which is located on the second floor of the Dale P. Latimer Library.

The Academic Conference is a multi-disciplinary exhibition of students’ research, creative work and accomplishments. Through oral presentations, poster exhibits and artistic works, students display their senior thesis research, significant class projects and more.

The work of more than 200 students, representing all three schools of Saint Vincent College (the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; the Herbert W. Boyer School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computing; and the Alex G. McKenna School of Business, Economics and Government), will be available for viewing. Ninety-seven students will present work across 12 oral panels, and 115 students will present posters. Students also will demonstrate visual arts, such as stained-glass making and oil painting.

Dr. Annie Laurie Nichols, assistant professor of communication, and Dr. Terrance Smith, assistant professor of management, are the faculty co-chairs of this year’s Academic Conference. Members of the Academic Conference faculty committee are Dr. Devin Fava, Dr. Ian Mitchell Taylor, Dr. Pete Smyntek, Dr. Sarah Dumnich, Dr. Tim Kelly and Dr. Derek Breid.
