It is with heavy hearts that our society again witnesses senseless acts of violence against innocent people. We condemn the recent murders in Atlanta and all acts of violence and bigotry against Asian Americans and others because of their race or ethnicity.
Saint Benedict wrote his Rule 1,500 years ago upon the premise that we could find and see Christ himself in every human being. Every human life is sacred. Violence, bigotry and racism is not only an offense against the person but against God Himself, and in the name of Saint Benedict, is not welcome here.
We pray for all who suffer in this world, who are objectified and whose life is devalued for any reason.
Let us pray for one another.
