Boyer students participate in summer internship panel

LATROBE, PA—On Tuesday, November 1, seven students from the Herbert W. Boyer School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computing, participated in the school’s annual Summer Research Showcase, moderated by Dr. I. Mitch Taylor, Assistant Professor of Chemistry in the Boyer School. Students from across all disciplines attended the event, which consisted of a panel discussion between the presenting students who participated in summer research internships on the experience of conducting summer research.  

In addition to sharing their internship experiences, students on the panel responded to questions both from the moderator and the audience.

Students participating in the panel included:

Cara Luallen, senior engineering major of Pataskala, OH, who completed an internship at the University of Alabama;
Samuel Bringman, junior physics major of Lewisburg, who completed an internship at Cornell University;
Amanda Serapiglia, senior biochemistry major of Trafford, who completed an intership at Duquesne University;
Amanda Pugliano, senior interdisciplinary science major of Monroeville, who completed an internship with Nestle Health Science;
Clare Mulcahy, senior biology major of Bradford, who completed an internship with Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, ME;
Ruth Milne, senior chemistry major of Northfield, VT, who completed an internship at James Madison University; and
Anna Doeling, junior biology major of Latrobe, who completed an internship at Saint Vincent College.
