LATROBE, PA – Robert Markley, the Carpenter Technology – Latrobe Specialty Metals Sponsored Lecturer in Saint Vincent College’s Alex G. McKenna School of Business, Economics and Government, was recently the featured guest on Chassi’s “Uniquely Placed” podcast series.
As a faculty member in the McKenna School’s Business Department, Markley teaches courses in accounting information systems and management information systems, while he leads Saint Vincent College’s SAP Business One certification program.
On the podcast, Markley discussed his educational and professional backgrounds, including how he began his career as a management and technology consultant before becoming a successful entrepreneur and business owner. He then went into depth on his transition into teaching, the history of the SAP Business One certification program in the McKenna School and the immense success that Saint Vincent students trained on SAP Business One have gone on to achieve since its introduction in 2007, as 95 have received internships and more than 60 have been hired in full-time positions within the SAP Business One ecosystem almost immediately upon graduating.
A Saint Vincent College faculty member since 2004, Markley was the 2018 recipient of the College’s prestigious Projektenmacher Award, which recognizes faculty members who, in the spirit of Saint Vincent founder Archabbot Boniface Wimmer, O.S.B., “brought vision to reality through hard work and perseverance.”
Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Chassi is a SaaS startup dedicated to optimizing the performance and utilization of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for businesses across the country. Markley is the second guest in Chassi’s “Uniquely Placed” podcast series, which launched in July.
