by Public Relations | January 15, 2020

LATROBE, PA – Saint Vincent College will host an information session for persons interested in its Master of Science in Management: Operational Excellence (MSMOE) program in the Alex G. McKenna School of Business, Economics and Government at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, in room 42 of Alfred Hall on the SVC campus.

The session will last approximately 45 minutes and will be presented by Dr. Michael Urick, associate professor of management and operational excellence and director of the graduate degree program.

For those unable to attend the session in person, it will also be available online. To receive a link and log-in information for the virtual session, contact michael.urick@stvincent.edu.

The information session is designed for attendees to ask any questions that they may have. Items that will be discussed include the philosophy of the program, course requirements, special programs including trips and experiential seminars and the program’s unique blend of traditional management concepts with Operational Excellence tools.

Saint Vincent College’s MSMOE program takes an innovative approach to exploring major issues facing managers in today’s business climate. Specifically, the program is innovative in its approach to supplementing classroom learning with a hands-on approach that provides students the tools they need in order to minimize waste in their organization while increasing quality, improving efficiency and fostering employee commitment. As such, the MSMOE defines “management” as focusing on three interrelated areas: people, organization and process. The MSMOE program helps its students build trust, foster collaboration, develop skills related to understanding the environment, craft goals and understand key metrics that help them achieve high productivity, output and efficiency for their organizations.

Faculty in the MSMOE program include leaders in their respective areas who have experience as managers, executives, researchers, business owners and consultants. Graduate of the program consistently report being more effective in their jobs as well as being aggressively recruited by organizations who see proper management techniques as crucial to improving their operations on the path to becoming truly excellent.

Saint Vincent College’s MSMOE program has earned a national reputation. For three straight years, U.S. News and World Report placed the program in the top 75 nationally in its rankings of top Non-MBA Business Online Graduate Programs, while in 2019, Value Colleges named it as one of the Top 25 Best Online Master’s in Management Programs in the U.S. as well as one of the Top 25 Best Value Master’s in Management Programs in the nation.

For additional information on the Feb. 11 information session and on the MSMOE program in general, contact Urick either via email or phone at 724-805-2654.
